THE DAD AND I PHOTO JOURNAL.

My dad has always been an avid reader, lover of nature and "lets see where this goes" kind of guy.   There were several occasions where I was the passenger in the car and he would want to try and drive a different route home.  I remember him saying once,
"lets see where this road goes, we have never driven down here before".  He dreamed of traveling to different locations and even had the chance to see Ireland with my mom.  The one thing about my father is he always likes to hear about the places I have been or my brother has been.  When I would have a photography shoot at an interesting location he would ask about it and want to see pictures.  My dad was always wanting to learn, see and experience new things.  He loved to read and would educate himself about everything and anything that he found interesting or fascinating.

My dad passed away on June 3rd 2016.

After my father had passed, a few months later my mom called me and said
"I have a picture for you".
I went over to my moms house and she handed me this picture.  I remember when this photograph was taken.  My brother took my dad and I out fishing at Apex lake.  I think I was 23 or 24 years old.  My brother had a disposable film camera he purchased from a drug store and snapped off some pictures.  This picture hit a chord with me and I take it everywhere I go.  When I am not traveling or doing a photography shoot I have it hanging on the wall near my desk at work.  My dad was always interested in my photography and was so supportive of my work.

Because I can't personally share with him the places I go and new things I experience I decided to take him with me instead.  It is a small way for me to continue a connection with him and to make sure his memory lives on.
