The Hu performed at the Ritz in Raleigh and simply blew the roof of the place. Their unique blend of music was enchanting to listen to and watching them perform live was a visceral experience. The Hu is a Mongolian folk rock/heavy metal band that uses traditional Mongolian instruments such as the Morin khuur, the Tovshuur and Mongolian throat singing to create their beautifully composed music. They also blend in traditional electric guitars, drums and bass. The band dubs their style of music as “Hunnu Rock”. The band is like no other and to really experience their music you do need to see them live.

Let’s talk about the show!

The band walked out onto the stage and the crowd started clapping and at one point the entire venue started chanting “THE HU, THE HU” over and over again. The group walked on to the stage with a strong and energized presence never diminishing that energy the entire show. After each song the crowd would stop and just clap as loud as possible because each song was beautifully performed. Their performance did not only sound incredible it was also visually stunning. The Hu is one of the most original and unique groups to be on tour today. I highly recommend anyone to go out and see them on tour, you will love it.
