THE DRIVER ERA LIVE!! | RITZ MUSIC VENUE

The Driver Era band performed at the Ritz Music Venue in Raleigh to a sold-out crowd and put one hell of a show.  This was my first time experiencing this bands live performance and I have to say, it was one of the best of the year.  If you are not familiar with the band “The Driver Era” lets, give a little background.  The band consists of two members who are also brothers, Rocky Lynch and Ross Lynch.  Both were former members of the disbanded band called R5.  Some may now Ross Lynch from his time working on the television show called “Austin & Ally”, but he has also been in several movies including the intense film “My friend Dahmer”.  This film is an intense movie about the now infamous serial killer “Jeffery Dahmer” which Ross Lynch was in the title role.  Rocky Lynch is a talented songwriter and musician who helped catapult R5 during their run and is now a musical force in combination with his brother to the ever-growing success of The Driver Era.  Now that we have a little history about the band let’s talk about the show!

I have to start off by saying, this being my first time covering this band I was really blown off my feet by the energy and sound.  The band as a whole sounded great, clear and on point.  Lead singer Ross sounded great with no issues during his vocal performance.  Each band member was energized and moved around the stage embracing the loud screaming fans and engaging with them throughout the night.

To give an example of how wild the crowd got, even before Driver Era hit the stage the entire venue of energized fans would start screaming at any change of lighting or even when the stage crew came on stage to adjust a guitar.  The fans were so amped and excited that even the slightest change got them going.  It was something I had never seen before and new I better be ready for when the band actually hits the stage.

After a few moments the lights went dark, and each band member started walking on stage.  Now, I don’t know how to describe the sound that came out of the fans once they saw them come out on stage, I don’t even know if I can correctly describe the volume of it.  The fans screamed so loud I am pretty sure anyone in a 5-mile radius heard them!  The band came out ready to rock the venue.  The entire crowd would sing along with almost every lyric Ross lynch was singing.  The lighting for the show was amazing, the band was well lit so each fan could see their favorite performers clearly which I believe is important if you’re going to see your favorite band live.

The entire night was filled with jumping, dancing, screaming and out of this world energy.  The band played some of their biggest hits including “Preacher Man” which was a crowd favorite.  This being my first experience covering this band live, I have to say it was one of the best shows of the year.  The band never let up and kept their energy going throughout the night.  If you are a fan of this band or even if you want to go to a really energetic show then don’t miss out on seeing them in your city!
