GAVIN DEGRAW LIVE!! | THE TRUMAN VENUE

On Tuesday, May 14th, Gavin DeGraw and his band performed at The Truman music venue in Kansas City, Missouri. As someone who grew up listening to Gavin on my iPod Nano, this show had me smiling from ear to ear the entire time. I can confidently say that most people know Gavin Degraw's music, even if they don't know him by name. Have you ever heard of the hit teen drama One Tree Hill? The that show that followed two brothers and their rivalry on the court as well as the inevitable drama one goes through in high school? More importantly, have you ever heard the show's super catchy theme song? Yep, That’s Gavin!

In 2003 when one of Gavin’s biggest hit songs called “I Don’t Want To Be” was chosen to be the show's theme song it was the kick-off to Degraw becoming a household name. I've been to many concerts in my lifetime and this one was one of the most memorable. While it was a small venue, the crowd made the place feel alive. Each time I looked out into the audience it was a sight you don’t see very often; no phones were out. Everyone there was simply living in the moment and enjoying the sound of music. 95% of the time fans were embracing their significant others, singing along, cheering in between songs, and being as present as possible. Proving that Degraw's music is more than just a concert where you need to record every moment.
