STEPHEN MARLEY LIVE!! | ZIGGYS MUSIC VENUE

Stephen Marley hit up the stage at Ziggys.Space on July 3, 2022 as a part of his “Babylon By Bus” Summer Tour. While Ziggy’s had been a part of the North Carolina music scene for many years, this is their new stage that only opened earlier this year. I got there just before the gates were set to open and there was already a pretty big line of fans anxiously waiting to get inside. Walking into the fully outdoor venue is a neat experience. It’s located in between several older industrial buildings, but they’ve added a garden with lots of seating spread throughout, and of course a huge stage at one end.

Local artist Selah Dubb started out the evening performing on the porch of the Cohab.Space while fans entered into the venue. They came back in between sets to keep the mood going while the crew changed out the main stage. The opener on the main stage was Kabaka Pyramid who hails from Jamaica and brings a unique sound mixing reggae with a bit of hip hop.

Around 9:00 pm and just after the sun had set, Stephen Marley hit the stage. The crowd had fully filled in by then and I don’t think anyone was left sitting at this point. When I looked around all I saw were people on their feet and dancing from the very first song and all the way until the very last.
